Workstyle is a personality platform that empowers your employees, teams, and entire organization to identify and remove the personality barriers that prevent your business from reaching its full potential. My team created Workstyle from the ground up. Based on a scientific personality method founded at NASA, Workstyle assigns people to one of 6 personalities in a spectrum, point being we all share similar traits; some being dominant. Through gamification techniques and analytics feedback, we designed a platform that allows HR departments to help employees learn more about each other and engage better on a professional and personal level.

Gaming Mechanics

Time Trials

The first gaming mechanic assigned to this product was the “Time Trial”, where the user is given one minute to identify as many image or phrases possible for a specific personality. This task also included content creation and finding 60 images and phrases for each personality, which ranges from pop culture characters, environments, and specific phrases.

Matching

The next mechanic was matching, where the user would drag and drop certain personality preferences to specific personalities. My final design ended up taking it up a notch, and not only did I add a time crunch to it, but I also created a retro aesthetic that had the words slowly dropping down and the user clicking on the specific personality. The game becomes harder the longer the user plays, with the words dropping faster and having to identify phrases for all the personalities rather than 2 or 3.

Challenge Mechanic

The last mechanic assigned to this product is the ability to challenge a coworker to your knowledge of a specific personality. While you can specify who you want to challenge over what personality, this specific example shows a slot machine mechanic where the personality and coworker is completely chosen at random.

Leaderboard

The leaderboard acts as a company wide directory for users, to find specific personalities in the workplace, how they compare between personalities, and how the PQ training is either increasing or decreasing. Users can sort by specific personalities or they can see how all six compare.
